What Does Your Church Preach

The apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1:23 " we preach Christ crucified" in his explanation and defense of the gospel that he preached. I wander what is being preached in place of this today across the world in christian churches. The same apostle told Timothy "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths" (2 Timothy 4:3-4 ESV). As I watch what goes on around the world and in our country I am convinced the same gospel Paul and most christian ministers preach, is not being preached everywhere. People still need to hear the truth! The only thing that will change a person from sin is Jesus Christ. Christianity is the product of a transformation from someone who sins and don't care, to a person who sins and is trying to do something about it. The only reason that a person can be free from their sin and every bondage is because of the cross, which is one of the major cornerstones of the gospel that we are to boldly preach.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us

which are saved it is the power of God.

(1 Corinthians 1:18)

We see a move in our time to remove the importance and diety of Jesus Christ. I say in our time, this has actually been going on from the beginning. It is of the upmost importance that wherever you attend services as a christian, that the message should be built off of the foundational truth of the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you take away any of these truths you have a false teaching, and behind a false teaching is a false teacher. The warning for the last days in 2 Timothy is coming true. People are accumulating for themselves teachers who will teach what the people want to hear. I thank God that I heard someone tell me things I didn't want to hear to show me how bad I really was, and how much I needed someone to fix me in the form of salvation. That is why the cross is foolishness, because if we are not in need of a savior, then you really didn't need God's plan of atonement, because there is nothing to atone for. Believe me, we need Jesus, The only way for us to be forgiven is faith in Christ, and that faith begins when we look to the cross.
