Have you ever been in a leaf storm? The other day I was sitting outside amazed at the wonders of the time of year we call fall, and it happened. I noticed all the leaves that would be caught in the wind, and be carried to which ever direction the wind blew. I watched as the leaves would swirl magically through the air in unison until they reached their destination. As I sat in my chair, I noticed that although the leaves would come down in bunches and fall all around me, I was never touched by a single one. They landed in the chairs next to me, they landed on top the fire pit beside me, but never on me. It reminded me of God's care for each one of his children found in the Gospel of Matthew....

If God can control the smallest thing, as the direction of a leaf as it falls to the ground, I know he can control all the things that happens in my life, seen and not seen. We can take comfort in his care for us, and trust that all things work out for those who have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Storms will come in life, and bring many troubles, but we can have peace in the midst of storms, regardless what kind.
