One of the greatest plagues of mankind rests in the bowels of lust, which leads to temptation, which results in sin. Without temptation there would be no sin, regardless of what kind of sin or temptation. We only sin against God after we yeild to temptation, and this originating with our own lusts according to the book of James. We must realize that to overcome sin we must first overcome temptations just as Jesus did. When Jesus ended his fourty day fast and was at his weakest point, Satan came to bring temptation. Satan has no power over us except for what we consent to. Temptation comes from three different areas, beauty, appetite, and pride. We must remember we need none of these to be accepted by God, only trust him and he supplies all that we need. Temptation will come in life, but how we handle that temptation determines our relationship with God, and the outcome of true joy and peace in our own lives.
